Clare Stack Richer ’80

Clare Stack Richer is the Chief Financial Officer and operating committee member of Putnam Investments where she oversees finance operations for all business units as well as corporate reporting and planning. Ms. Richer joined Putnam in 2008 from Fidelity Investments, where her 25-year career included a number of key roles, including Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President of Fidelity Management & Research Company, President of Fidelity Investments Life Insurance Company, and member of the firm’s operating committee. Ms. Richer graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1980 with a bachelor’s of business administration. She joined the Notre Dame Board of Trustees in 2015 and has been a member of the College of Arts and Letters Advisory Council, the Accountancy Advisory Board and the Ireland America Committee. She is also one of the founding members of the Notre Dame Boston Business Council.

Ms. Richer is the co-founding chair of the City Year’s Women’s Initiative and is a member of the leadership council of the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts chapter. She also served as a member of the board of directors and finance committee at St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.

Ms. Richer is married to Jerry Richer and resides in Southborough, Massachusetts. They have three children: Carolynn, (ND ’09); Alex, (ND ’11) and Peter (ND ’15).
