Karen Robinson Keyes ’91, ’95 MSA

Karen Keyes graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1991 with a BA in American Studies as the All-Time Leading Scorer for Notre Dame Women’s Basketball under Head Coach Muffet McGraw. During her time on the team, Karen was a District All-American, Conference Player of the Year in 1990 and 1991 and Team MVP and Athlete of the Year at Notre Dame in 1991. Karen also served as Team Captain in 1991 and went on to play professionally in Switzerland upon graduation.

Karen returned to Notre Dame in 1993 to pursue her Masters in the Science of Administration. She coached alongside Coach McGraw at Notre Dame and then at Fordham University and Manhattan College. She was also a Broadcast Reporter for the New York Jets and was named Division Coach of the Year for Ridgewood High School just last year.

Karen is married to fellow Domer and former Bookstore Basketball Champion, Kevin Keyes. He is a former member of the Men’s Tennis Team and the two serve on the Student-Athlete Advisory Council at Notre Dame. They established the Maureen and John Keyes Scholarship Fund, are Members of the Joyce Grant and Aid Program, President’s Circle, Rockne Heritage Fund and recently endowed the Head Women’s Basketball Coaching Position at Notre Dame. Karen and Kevin currently reside in Ridgewood, New Jersey with twin daughters Katie and Cassie (16) and son Johnny (11).
